Illinois Howl - because of the large number of recordings that I am getting on this particular sound I decided to make a special page to eliminate some of the clutter off the my unknown sounds page.

The following recordings were made in the field using a Marantz PMD 670 solid state recorder and Audio-Technica Pro 37 R cardioid condenser microphone. The purpose of this page is to allow feedback, comments and discussion. Recording conditions in the field can be challenging. My situation is living near a sewage treatment plant with its continuous hum. I wish that these files could be cleaned up with no hum, background noise and other extraneous sounds. The answer is being closer to the animals with better microphones and recorders.
