Location – Cuivre River State Park is located approximately 45 miles northwest of St.Louis, Missouri and 3 miles east of the town of Troy in Lincoln County.

One of the many white oaks common in the park.

Thick woods along one of the many trails.

My wife and I (and our two dogs) camped for two nights in this lovely Missouri State Park the 3-5 of November, 2006.  The fall colors were starting to dwindle as many of the leaves have already fallen.  We hiked several different trails which wander through the woods as well as around Lake Lincoln. This area is quite unusual having features similiar to the Ozarks although being in Northern Missouri.

White bark contrasting with the browns and oranges of fall.

Bigfoot Perspectives – We only scratched the surface exploring this 6,393 acre forest with it’s 33 miles of hiking trails and 55 acre lake.  In two nights of doing all night recordings I only heard one very distant barred owl.

Previous sightings – although most of the surrounding counties have a history of sightings Lincoln County does not have any published reports.
